Can someone please post what hardware you need, such as wires etc, and which is the best software or packages to get for it. I already have a TV Out in the back of my PC.

The main purpose I would like my TV Out to do is so I can make MPEGS on the computer off the television.

If you only have TV out all that will do is use your TV like a monitor. If you want to capture something off the TV you will need some type of capture hardware and the software to save what you captured in file form you want to use.

For hardware you could install a ATI all-in-wonder video card. Then there are other ways to capture too. Pinnacle and Dazzle are two companies that have hardware to capture video. You could go to http://www.google.com and do a search on video capture. Most of them come with software to do what you want to do. As for software here are a few Adobe Premiere, Roxio VideoWave and Ulead VideoStudio. before you buy the software make sure they can save it in the file form you want to save it in. For me my TV does not have any jack for TV out. I have to first record it on to my VCR and then bring it into my computer.
