    Hi Lucy
Have you gone into your Modem properties and checked to see if you can turn off the sound there?

    If no go......try this:
    Double Click on MY COMPUTER

    Double Click on CONTROL PANEL

    Double Click on MODEM

Click ONCE on your MODEM so it turns BLUE

    Click on PROPERTIES

Click on the tab labelled CONNECTION

    Click on button labelled ADVANCED

Point and Click ONCE on EXTRA SETTINGS field so you can type

In the EXTRA SETTINGS type one of the following:

MO (2 letters) if you want to turn your MODEM SOUND OFF

L1 (One letter, One Number), L2 or L3 to have different sound levels (Try each to see which one you like) for the MODEM SOUND ON.

    Click OK

Close out of everything- You're ready to go.

    Go this far:
    Double Click on MY COMPUTER

    Double Click on CONTROL PANEL

    Double Click on MODEM

Click ONCE on your MODEM so it turns BLUE

    Click on PROPERTIES

See if there's a box to turn off the modem sound or volume?

Lucy? Once you opened up properties....did you look around for a check box to uncheck for modem sound?

    Footnote to last post!

    Daizy:
I was typing capital O instead of the number 0, that is why is didn't work the first time.

    Again, many thanks,
    Lucy
