Im trying to find a way to remove a virtual drive, as when I tried installing and making a CD with my external burner, it only will see the virtual one and want to make an image file.

I dont know or have the software I used to install the virtual one and its not showing up on my list of drives, yet is still being seen by my cd burning software (NERO) as the only one available.

Im using backpack cd-rewriter and after I installed the software sucessfully, no new drive is appearing either.

    Any help is appreciated thanks..!

What version of Nero? What version of Windows?

The virtual drive is used by Nero to allow you to burn an image file to the Hard Disk. This lets you create a image for burning even without a CDRW physically in the machine. I am not sure that you can remove the virtual drive.

How is your backpack CDRW hooked up? IDE or USB. Does it show up in Windows and have a drive letter assinged to it?
