I have tried several time to make a recovery drive. I have a new, never used, 16gig flash drive. I formatted the drive as NTFS. Went thru the process which took close to an hour and finally had the drive. Drive wouln't load and nothing worked. Checking properties shows only about 4 gig of files, and is listed as FAT32. It happened a 2nd time. Am I missing a step somewhere.
My system is Win 10 64bit with all updates. Eight gig ram and lots of drive space.

Does the current C drive have more than 16 gigs of files on it?

What application are you using to make the recovery drive?

The hard drive has much more than 16 gigs on it but the process says I need 8 gigs. All I want is the recovery part. I'm using the app listed in the control panel as recovery. The confusing part to me is the fact that it made the drive with FAT32, even thought the flash drive was formatted NTFS. I never had a need for one of these, so I'm not sure how it works. I'm having start up problems and the usual checks don't help. No malware, no virus. sfc found no problem, memory check found no problems. Total file size on the flash drive is 4963, which I believe is max for FAT32.
