    This is so incredibly frusterating...

my computer just WILL NOT boot from microsofts bootable USB, using their own tool in order to create either an ISO or a bootable flash drive to do a fresh win10 install

my friend gave me a disk to use but its 64bit, i need the 32bit in order for my display drivers and monitor drivers to update properly, so i wanted to take it upon myself to reinstall win10 with the proper bits.

ive tried straight up windows tool directly to usb
ive tried win10 tool to make an ISO, used rufus to make the usb bootable and told it to use the ISO
Ive tried this program called plop boot manager (didnt work at all)
Ive tried going into bios and enabling legacy

i have NO idea what else to try.

enabling legacy got bios to see the usb as bootable, and even to put it first priority, its still not booting from it!! I get a flashing blinking cursor for a second or 2, followed by the regular windows (existing) loading screen

this is making me want to pull my hair out. i have no idea why they would make this so incredibly difficult

Have you followed this procedure? Windows 10 All you need to know and follow. Worked for me months ago. I've just upgraded my wife's Comp this afternoon - took an hour and forty minutes. Neil.

Can you just open the Explorer and open/run the Setup.exe?

thats what ive been trying to do. used the tool, took all the steps, changed the power order in bios. nothing has been mattering.

just today i tried burning a dvd of win10 from my laptop (win10 also vanishes cd rom drives it appears).... tried booting from that, both with and without legacy enabled. no dice. it just does *not* want me doing a fresh install.

the setup within windows only offers to upgrade the current system... nothing about fresh installs. i want to totally wipe and then reinstall win10 wth the proper bit source.

win8 booted from the DVD... i just dont understand why windows 10 just does not want to for the life of me...
