I am attempting to run a CD on my system, the title of which is the Edmund Fitzgerald Interactive Explorer. I have run it normally, and in compatibility mode (as it was designed originally for Windows 95/98) and in both cases, it came up with the following message when I attempted to run the multimedia sections of the program:

"The media resource is not open. Try using MMOpen before this command. "

Can anyone help me as to why this is happening and if there is a fix for it? I would be most appreciative, as this CD comprises one of the main parts of my collection on the Edmund Fitzgerald. (The ship was an ore carrier lost in 1975 with all hands)

    Thank you!!!

Hi Lamont - Welcome to the Board :)

I can find no reference to MMopen that is meaningful to your problem - I suspect that the media content of your CD is not compatible with XP.

Does the CD run OK on a Win 98 m/c?
