I've been running a W2K peer to peer network for several years now in my house, with no problems. i recently got a laptop with windows xp home. i've been trying to share files/printers/etc., but can't get the laptop to recognize the existing domain. I have added the users to all machines, triple checked the workgroup name, but still no luck. hlp!!

Windows XP Home Edition is not designed to join domains, only workgroups.

    i should pay attention

my bad....thats what i get for sneaking in a post while at work. i didn't mean domain, i meant workgroup.

upon furthur investigation - they can ping each other in both directions, and if i go to my w2k box i can see the laptop by browsing the network, so i am positive they can see each other. But it will not let me access the contents, saying "the network path is not found ". from the laptop, i can't even view past the workgroup name.
