System: Dell dimension. Windows XP with SP2. EO6 Quicken 2006
    Questions:
    (1) Started Windows backup. CDR disk in drive E. Went ok for about 2/3 of total. Then system announced that disk was full and nothing more could be done. But it did not tell me how to continue with another disk. Have a stack of them. Took disk out, but no way to know how to continue. How do I back up all the files, documents, pictures, Quicken, Outlook Express on a series of disks?
    (2) How do I get Outlook express to back up, including all my saved messages?
    (3) How do I get Quicken to back up?
    (4) How do I get data saved on Excell to back up?
    (5) Do I put them all on the same series of disks or separate series for each type of program?
    (6) Why wont Microsoft provide answers to this in the Help Index? Nothing whatever there on these issues.
Thank you for whatever help you can give. ALK

    Hello ALK,

XP's backup is basic, its limited as you found out.

Seperate them, one app per disc as long as they are under 650 MB size limit.

    Your Long term options:

Get 3rd party burning software such as Roxio - Nero - Sonic.

Get a 2nd internal or external HD for backups.

    Regards - Charles

Thanks for your reply. Meanwhile I wanted to see just what had been put on that disk that was incomplete. Windows, which had created it, told me it could not open it unless I explained what program had been used to create it. This is, of course, nursery school logic. Windows then directed me to a web site called FILEext or some such which looked to me about as bogus as they get. In addition, it shut off my contact with Windowsbbs, so I lost my partly finished reply.
Just wanted to go on record with this whole episode.
Guess I'll be stuck with more tech gadgets that should not be needed.
