Hello, I'm really getting aggravated  and I never get this way. I don't know whats up but all of a sudden the past 2 days I tried to run 2 different programs but got errors. First I installed Easy CD Creator 4 Deluxe with no troubles. Then I rebooted, clicked on Icon to start it but got error like "engine will not run" something like that. Then today I downloaded Eudora 5.2 E-mail program that I'm going to use instead of my Outlook E-mail program. I did the install nice and smooth, then I clicked on Icon to start Eudora and got error that said that :
MSVCIRT.DLL file is linked to missing export MSVCRT.DLL:??_U@YAPAXI@Z. Error starting program
    C:\Program Files\Qualcom\Eudora\Eudora.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning.
I can't figure out at all whats going on. Could anyone help me out please?
Oh yea I downloaded Eudora again and same thing happened, did same with ECD C4, uninstalled & did another install.
    Thank you,,~~Paul~~

:) Hi Miz, I'll always be amazzed at how you can find out this info from what I told you. Anyway Miz, I did everything the way I was suppose to right up to Re-Boot in MS-DOS Mode. I don't think I have re-booted in MS-DOS more than once or twice in the 5/6 years I have been using a computer. Miz from the re-boot to the screen it has some writting about my mouse driver, then the prompt starts as C:\Windows>
I then typed the first set of comands, hit ENTER, but it sad Bad Command or path to file or close to that. Should I continue to follow directions at the site Miz? Could i be doing something wrong?

In DOS, things have to be typed exactly correct...the exact spacing, the exact spelling, no typos at all or you'll get the "bad command or file name. "

All you're doing with the DOS stuff is renaming a couple of files then replacing them with the new copies you extracted from the CD. You can't do that when Windows is running because Windows is using those files...and Windows won't let you rename or delete files its using. In DOS, they're not being used.

Those commands should work if you've followed the previous instructions to the letter. Now all you gotta' do is type the commands to the letter, too. ;)

    RIGHT-ON!!

:D Thank you Miz,,you were 100% correct. I went back to the directions and I printed them out this time. So it was that I did not have the typing EXACTLY right, missed a space or two. It worked and my problems are fixed. Miz, I hope to learn how to use the Microsoft Page for Error's much better.
    Thank you again,,,
