Attempting to install an Iogear 32 mb memory mouse on windows 98 ver 2. This is a usb device that is a mouse and a portable memory drive built into one device. I downloaded the driver from the company website. I launched the .exe file. Upon install I can see a new f: drive on my computer, but cannot save data to it. Then when I reboot the drive icon is no longer in my directory.

Any tips on installing usb devices with 98? This computer is six years old and as I recall it has the very first edition of usb ports.

    Thanks for any assistance.

    eflayer2 - Welcome to the Board :)

Plenty of infomation re. troubleshooting USB in Win 98SE here - I would steer clear of the Unofficial Service Pack though.

Check in the User Guide, it may need to be formatted. Right-click on the drive icon and select Format.
