Trouble inserting a symbol in Word 2002

    I'm unable to insert a symbol into Microsoft Word 2002. When I choose 'Symbol' from the 'Insert' menu, Word gives me an error notice and closes the program. I am using Windows XP.

    Try help/detect and repair from the menu bar in word. This usually works for me when I have little bugs like this. You'll need your office cd.
