trouble downloading attachments [Yahoo mail]

    I have Windows XP home
    IE8
    Yahoo mail
    MacAfee security center

    When I open mail with an attachment (.doc or .pdf usually) when I click on the attachment it shows a window doing virus check, click on download it shows window open, save, or cancel. Click on open download window opens but about 90% of the time there is no progress bars displayed and the attachment doesn't download. It's getting rather frustrating.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    I use neither Yahoo or MacAffee, but I suggest you try turning off email protection in MacAfee - you are still protected by the av and can scan the attachment before opening.
