I wanted to clear all the stored passwords that have been saved in the past. I opened IE >Tools >Internet Options >Content >Auto Complete >Clear Passwords. When I do this IE stops responding and I have to close it using End Task.

I've restared the computer to reload it's brains but that's not the fix. Any suggestions?

Was IE running when you tried to clear passwords? Try right clicking the desktop icon > Properties, etc and clear from there.

Good idea Pete.... it didn't work but it was a good idea. I tried to run Internet Options from the control panel without explorer running and it also failed. I did notice, however, that the program that I'm really killing (that is: stops responding) is RUNDLL32.EXE. I think I'll reboot into safe mode and try it there. I'll let y'all know how that turned out in a few minutes.

    FIXED!

I was able to delete the old passwords in safe mode. I have no idea what was causing rundll32 to have a problem.

Thanks Pete for getting me pointed in the right direction.
