This is probably an easy one. I recently installed Win 98 on my old PC (a clean installation after wiping off Win 95) and have re-installed MSN version 7 (keeping my original account). I'm not thrilled with the MSN home pages 'cartoony' look so I downloaded IE 6 and set it to be my default homepage (or so I thought). When I sign in using the MSN screen (butterfly icon), it still takes me to the cartoon home page. While I can then open IE from there, I would prefer that it come up as my home page. Any ideas? (P.S. - I don't have anything against cartoons)...

What exactly do you want in the way of a homepage? You don't have to use MSN.

If you are into information try Reference Desk. No cartoons. :D

Tools - Options - General - Homepage and then select whichever site you want.

    Thanks for the advice,

It turns out (according to MSN) that you can't prevent the 'cartoon' web page from coming up first. In this case, it's the Radio Shack page because that's where I got the MSN disk. I did use the options menu and no matter what you put in there, MSN comes up after log in (with your selected home page inset into the cartoon window). Oh well, just one extra step to get where I want to go.
