trouble changing the fonts when viewing message

I'm using netscape 7.1 and I've created a new profile user and the fonts when viewing a message is small,script style and hard to read. tried to change them under 'preferences / appearance' but doesn't seem to change.

w.young--Since I do not use Netscape, this may not be helpful. In Outlook Express, you can change font size of a received message, but not the font type. That is determined by the sender. Maybe the same in Netscape.
Have you looked in Netscape "Help "?

Take a look at this Screen Shot. Is this how you have your Fonts set up?

Once you change the settings, try closing Netscape, then reopening. In 7.1 it sometimes takes several attempts to get Netscape to retain the setting.

Let us know if you continue to have problems.

Ramona--I kinda wondered why you had not replied. But glad you have set the record straight.
So, in Netscape you can change the font style of a received email? (Always curious, even though I have OE. )

What a nice suprise to see you posting on the Netscape Forum. You should pop over more often. I was a little slow in responding today, as I had things to do, and places to go. Believe it or not, I really do have a life outside of the WindowsBBS!

Yes, the way you view text in received messages can be changed. You can view messages as original HTML, simple HTML, or plain text. Or you can change from a fixed width font to a variable width font.

Nice to chat with you, and maybe you might want to give Mozilla a try one of these days.
