Each and everytime I run a scan with this Cox Spyware Program, which is Pest Patrol, I think, I get this specific entry.See attached.

I have SpyBot, AdWare, Microsoft Prog, SypwareBlaster, & SpywareGuard. I have TeaTimer enabled on SypBot.

So, how is this Rascal getting into my PC? Suggestions to stop it would be welcomed.

Thank you. I'm going to try this. As it is "new ground" for me I suppose I can do a Restore Point and move back if I mess up.

No need mudd. hosts is a simple text file and the only effect if something went wrong would be blocked access to some internet & network sites.

Make a copy of hosts and name it hosts.old then do the update. It will almost certainly run well but if things go horribly wrong, delete the new/bad/damaged file and rename hosts.old to hosts and you are back in business.

Nothing written to the registry and no system files altered by the update.

Thanks. I've been looking at the info that was on the site txclaw sent. Looks foreign to me. Still, I'm going to do it tomorrow. Eyes are begging for a rest today!

I'll do as you suggested. That makes me feel more like doing this.

I still can't figure why all the other programs won't indicate that a registry entry has been changed when this Cox Spyware finds it. Nothing else does.

txclaw and Newt: Thanks to each of you for the help. After a week the Trojan has not came back. Must have been the Host as txclau suggested.
