Symantec gave a complete rundown on how to get rid of this and I followed it step by step, several times. System Restore is disabled - virus scans find it, quarantines it, I go delete it out of quarantine and it keeps coming back, over and over and over.

I found one bad file running in your log, and it is hard to remove the startup for it.

Download the trial version of ewido security suite, and install it, update, then close for now. This program is very good at removing trojans and their remnants.

Go to Start\Run type in "Services.Msc" and press Enter. Locate this in the list.

    dlcc_device

Click on it and Stop the service, then right click on it and set to Disable.

Open HJT, and click on 'Open misc tools section', then click on "Delete a file on reboot', a File Open window will appear. Copy/Paste the following into it.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlcccoms.exe

Then click on Open, and you will be prompted to reboot, select No at this time. Then rescan with HJT, and remove this.

    O23 - Service: dlcc_device - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\dlcccoms.exe

Reboot into Safe Mode, then do the scan.
When done, delete all files and folders located in these folders.
    C:\Windows\Prefetch
    C:\Windows\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp

What I found was two anti-virus programs. One that came installed on the computer (Trend Micro PC-cillin) had the virus in quarantine and the other (Nortons) kept finding it. Viscous circle. I deleted the files out of quarantine and removed the PC-cillin program that Dell had installed as a trial. Several scans after that showed a clean computer.

I've got the galapoper.a trojan & have followed all of symantecs instructions to remove, to no avail. Symantec online scan detects, but, i can't get rid of it. I am unable to run a norton scan in normal mode & it is not detected in safe mode. HELP!
Shall I run HJT & post my results?

You have quite a few baddies in there.
First disable System Restore, else bad files will reappear.

Open HJT, and click on 'Open misc tools section', then click on "Open process manager'. Locate this in the list, highlight it and click on 'Kill Process'.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\systemdll.exe

Now click on the 'Back' button, this button will change to 'Config', click on 'Config' then click on "Delete a file on reboot', a File Open window will appear. Copy/Paste the following into it.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\systemdll.exe

Then click on Open, and you will be prompted to reboot, select No at this time. Do the same for these.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\speedgear.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\hysteria.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\habbit.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dicerigger.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\doublefurni.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\global 64 setup regs\Waybold.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\RRUUNN.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\habbo.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\runsrv32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\susp.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\dicerigger.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\doublefurni.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\habbit.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\hysteria.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\speedgear.dll

When done, do not reboot the computer yet. Rescan with HJT, and remove these entries.

    I'm having the same problem

I have cleaned up like symantec said and every few days it returns.

I cleaned out my Prefetch, windows/Temp, and my personal settings/temp
    just now.

This is the log file - is there anything in this log file that I need to take care of?
