    Hi!

My Mom is traveling from Mass to New Zealand for 6 months. She doesn't want to miss her shows and SPORTS! Can she watch in NZ via her Dell laptop for free? Or cheap? Or is there a way to watch her DVR (Verizon FIOS) ? I heard of slingbox, but I dont want her to have to buy something if she doesn't have to.

    Anyone know about this stuff?

    Might check out: http://www.hulu.com/

Hulu.com is an online video service that offers hit TV shows including Family Guy and 30 Rock...

Some sports are broadcast live over the internet. Check ESPN 3.com for sports. For TV shows, I don't know of live broadcast. I catch most of my shows the day after either through something like Hulu or just going to the TV network's website.

You guys forget that Hulu can only be watched from within the US.

You'll need to use a Proxy or VPN to get around that. Same for Netflix, although that is available in some other countries.
