Transferring Windows xp

    Is there a way i can tranfer windows xp from one computer to another.i don't have the os disk.Is there a way i can do this without going buying another os program.

    What will you be using on the first/original machine "if" you could transfer?

    i want to use both windows xp on the computers...

    Technically, that would put you in violation of the EULA that you acknowledged and accepted when you loaded XP the first time. When you install XP on a second machine, it will require you to call MS and explain why you need to do this and if they accept your explanation, you'll be allowed to re-register the product. If you don't do that, the system will refuse to boot after 30 days. They will fill you in on the details but essentially you'll be required to remove the system from the first computer. You are allowed to have it installed on one machine only, at any given time.

    Thanks for the info from everyone on this post,after going over the post,i think my best bet is to just go buy another program.Atleast this way if something do happen in the future i will have the program..

    Even without regards to the legality and say you were transferring the license to a new setup. You need the disk to do it.
