I need to copy my laptop Netscape profile over to the desktop, so I can still get my email, etc uninterrupted when it's in for repairs.

Both comps have the same version of Netscape, 7.1 on Windows XP machines...

...and the desktop will not let me copy the new profile. It has the same folder name as my old one; I'm copying it from a laptop program file backup made last night. When I try to copy that folder from the CD into the desktop's Netscape Users directory, I get the usual dialogue "a folder of this name already exists. If you continue, the old folder contents will be overwritten ". I click "yes "...

...and when I start Netscape on the desktop, the old profile (like 2 years old) comes up. This even happens if I delete the old profile and empty the desktop's recycle bin beforehand. When I uninstalled NS 7.1 on the desktop and reinstalled, my old profile didn't even exist in the Netscape directory yet. I copied the new one, and the old one still came up

I was able to do this once before between my laptop and another desktop; the files copied from CD with no issues and I have not changed my settings since. Would it work if I emailed the folder as an attachment to my email account that's still on the desktop, and copied it that way?

This is bugging me. I need to port my profile over before I take the laptop in for repairs.
