    Hi All,

In trying to help a friend (no access to the internet) remove a corrupted program from his computer I ran into the following situation. When I copy RegSeeker to a floppy or a CD and attempt to remove registry items using either of these mediums, the program works up until the final removal (deletion) and then I get a message in French and English which denies the deletion. The same RegSeeker program works fine on my computer. Each computer uses WindowsXP Pro. Any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong or a work around.

Which edition are you using? I beleive there was a bug with 1.51 which was fixed with 1.52. But to be honest I can't be sure, but there was a lengthy discussion over in this DSLR thread

    TeMerc and Steve,

Thank you for the prompt responses. To answer your questions: I downloaded and installed version 1.52 to my computer and this is what I copied to the floppy and CD. Yes my friend's computer is running WindowsXP.

Are you running it from the floppy or CD? If you are, why not run it from the HD?

    Regards - Charles

    Charles,

Your suggestion worked. I brought my friend's computer to my house and hooked it up to my ISP. Then I downloaded Regseeker and left it on his hard drive. Regseeker performed great and I was able to remove the leftover bits from his bad program. He will give me a report on his computer operation but from what I see everything looks good.

Thank you all for your interest and support.
