I was new to Win 7 last year when my husband gave me his used computer with all his stuff still on it.

As a result, some of my files and folders have ended up as his.

I there a way I can move files from him as user to me as another user, or combine the two users as one?

Thanks for any help on this:eek:

    cheers,
    Pat

    Yes.

    1. Take ownership of his files.
    2. Copy the files to your user directories (My Documents, My Pictures, etc).
    3. Remove his user account via Control Panel > User Accounts.

How To: Take Ownership of a File or Folder

In your case, the folder you need to right click is:
    C:\Users\<husband's user name>\

Note: the above Microsoft guide uses the term "Object ". And "object" in this case is a user name. Thus, if you are not listed in the dialog of users who can take ownership, and you must add an object, you would add your exact Windows user name, i.e. the name used here: C:\Users\<you>\.
