Track user idle time

    for my project i need to track user idle time from win server 2003 is there any option of tracking of user idle time and get stored from there i can get for my project.user idle time should calculate automatically. and my user are connected in LAN connection ..

    (NOTE:IDLE TIME in the sense when user not using or moving or touching the mouse and keyboard for a particular period of time)

    Not via a standard Windows system that I am aware of.

    There is software that you can use to log key strokes but the vast majority of such software is of a dubious nature (used to grab user input - such as bank details as they enter them). There are also a lot of privacy issues. Even if you could log activity, how would you distinguish between someone working and someone pretending to work by moving the mouse around and randomly hitting keys.

    As I can't see a way of answering your query without pointing you at malware software, I'm closing this thread. Please PM me if you have a good reason for reopening this thread.
