Touch Pad Problems

I'm 99% sure this is a software problem so I did not post this under hardware even though it is my touch pad being affected.

Last night I managed to remove a virus using combo fix as directed and then proceeding to do several virus scans when that was finished. I'm confident the virus is now off my system, but since running combo fix my touch pad seems to be acting up.

I've noticed i cannot use the scroll bar area on the touch pad in order to scroll down pages. I installed the latest driver for my particular touchpad and laptop model and that still does not work, when i attempted to change the sensativity of my touch pad I also found an error.

I do have one, I'm using it right now Lol. So, any ideas what I can do? If I can't resolve it I'll just go out and get a mouse, but I'd really rather be able to use my touch pad reliably (the sensativity is not turned high enough for my comfortable use, scroll bar still refuses to work and I've noticed that the mouse pointer ocasionally jumps without being touched).
