Who's the manufacturer, model and version number. Check their website for driver updates.

Interesting comment from a Review of the MSI Laptop.
It might pay to check if this is a problem in their MSI Forum. Neil.

I think I may have fixed it. I went in and deleted the driver. Rebooted it and turned it back on and scanned for hardware changes. Reloaded the driver. Seems to work fine now. Will see how things go.

I would have returned it earlier if I had the problem with a new unit. Neil.

If an automobile steering wheel were to "go unresponsive ", believe me, it would be the manufacturer's problem.

Same with the touchpad ( "steering ") on your laptop. *-If-* it has been "going unresponsive" since you first opened the box, it *-IS-* the manufacturer is obligated to repair or replace it under their warranty.
