tools & software for pc cleanup?

hi,

I got my xp pro installed for about 3 years now without doing a reïnstall ever.
but the problem is that I got a lot of junk now. I did remove all the software that was not more usefull to me anymore. I did regular spyware scans and some registry cleaners, disk defragmentation etc.

now I still notice that my pc does not perform like it did two years ago. probably caused by all those installed and removed programs etc.

I tried alot of things but I do not seem to get the results I want.

There is so much software & tools out there that promise alot but often deliver very little.
so I don't know what to use?
does anyone got some good experience with specific software, tools, that can help to clean up my pc, increase performance ?
Which tools deliver what they promise?

Hello mindbug,

You could format your HDD using WinXP CD but the data written on the sectors of a hard disk will remain.
I usually use Drive Cleanser, it securely deletes all the data and partitions on a hard disk.
Very fast and easy.
