Toolbar list on view menu is mixed up

My list of available toolbars in the View > Toolbars submenu has become mixed up. The item shown as Web Assistant actually toggles the Google toolbar on and off. The item shown as Google appears to do nothing. The same is true of another selection called Zerobar. I believe this last one was added to IE by my ISP (without my knowledge or consent). My ISP is NetZero. My IE is version 6.0.
How do I fix this submenu problem.

First see if theres mention of it in addremove programs if so unistall it.
How familur and confident are you with regedit ?

You could post a hijackthis log, it will let our forum members see whats going on, even if your not experiencing a hijack, though the view context menu is another matter.

What you could do is In IE options advanced uncheck use third party browser extensions, restart IE, then you would need to reinstall google toolbar. That might do the trick.
    ======
Post a log from HijackThis so our forum members can see
what's going on.The current version is 1.97.7 [created by merijn bellekom]

    Get it here http://radiosplace.com/
    choose save, NOT OPEN
    Save it to a PERMANANT folder,(for example C:\Anti Spyware) double-click HijackThis.exe,
and hit "Scan ". When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log, load it in Notepad, and copy its contents here.
Most of what it lists will be harmless, even essential,DON'T fix anything yet please. Also If you've used it before please dont have anything excluded

Recently I have noticed a new application running in the background. Task Manager lists it under the name "Toolbars" but I have no idea what application this is or what it does. There are no programs on my hard drive by this name and I have no idea why it is now running in the background. I have two utilities (Startup Cop Pro and End It All) both of which will give a complete list and some description of all programs which are running in the background after startup, but I have not been able to determine which of these programs is the mysterious one described as "Toolbars" in Task Manager.
Anyone out there have any ideas?

I have merged these two posts,
Why not continue with the original and see if our forum members can help.

Meanwhile if you have stoped a proccess or a startup undue that and reboot before scanning with and posting a hijackthis log, please.

.Lonny: Can I have my IE post returned to its original spot? I think I solved the Windows 98SE OS question on my own. The Close Program applet was apparently displaying Explorer under the name "Toolbars ". It may have had something to do with the extra toolbars I created and placed on the left side of my screen. I removed the toolbars and then recreated them again. After that, Explorer reappeared under its own name in the Close Program window. Mystery solved.
My other question (about IE) is really a separate one and I would still like to address that. I have noticed there are quite a few posts in the IE forum from people who have had trouble customizing the toolbars in IE. That is, they customize the content and placement of the toolbars, select Lock Toolbars, but then the next time they run IE, the toolbars are all back they way they were. Besides that, I have the additional problems of the items listed in the View>Toolbars menu which are not connected to the correct tools

To fix theIE toolbars, this may work. Just have one IE window open, adjust the toolbars, hold the CTRL key down and close IE.
