I just tried to install Office 2007 on my Vista RC2. I closed ALL applications and looked at the Task Manager, which showed only 35% memory usage. I have a P M 750 running at 1.86GHz, which is the equivalent to a P4 2.5GHz. I also have 1GB of DDR 533MHz RAM. I have 6GB of free HD space. Is this error message referring to RAM or HD space? Maybe I am doing something else wrong. Please help!

    Thanks a bunch! :)

PS : One more thing. I 'have Vista installed on a 15GB partition. Hmmmmmm....

The error message has in the past been an indication of a damaged download.

In a different context, the error message has been traced to decompression routines in Vista, with the suggestion that using something like FreeZip instead of the native decompression resolves the issue: http://www.ozemail.com.au/~nulifetv/freezip/

Thanks for responding! The thing is, it's an .exe file and it works fine under XP, so I don't think it's a damaged file issue. Is there any way to "break" into the file and decompress it into a folder, like you would with any .zip or .rar file? Maybe that would resolve the issue.

    Thanks again!
