Tiny windows opening, Windows 8.1

Sometime last year I had this same problem on my old laptop, Vista Home Basic. I received a remedy from this forum which solved it. Yesterday, I tried the same remedy with this new laptop, Windows 8.1, and it worked, but only for a short time. The tiny little windows came right back.

Would be thankful for any help to have my windows open to the normal large size.

Try this:

1. Close all but one browser window.
   
   
2. Drag each edge of that window (top, bottom, left and right) all the way out to each edge of the monitor.
   
   
3. Close the browser window.

The next time you open the browser, it should open up that same size.

 

Thanks Doc, I got it to work, but I had to hold down CTRL while clicking on the X to close. I don't think I understand how to close all but one browser window. And I am surprised that it worked, as I tried the very same method numerous times last night and it did not work! Thanks much..
