 I recently uninstalled webshots ( a screen saver and desktop enhancement program) from my computer. Now my OS screen saver will not work unless I go into display properties and click preview . It will not auto start at any time period. Any ideas on how I can fix this would be appreciated.

p.s. I also installed the patch for screen saver and same problem.

    Take a look at Q314493.

Then look at the registry settings in both the HKEY_USERS and HKEY_CURRENT_USERS hives for screen saver settings.

Sometimes changes made from the desktop/GUI screens don't seem to take.

Does everything else seem to be working OK?

I have already checked all reg keys and everything is in place. Do you know what file runs the timer for the screen savers. Maybe it has gone corrupt.
Is it possible that when I loaded web shots onto my system it renamed the file that runs the screen saver timer and I deleted it in the reg. after I unistalled the program and ran "clean reg3 "? I do remember "clean reg3" finding a file left behind from the uninstall program and I deleted it from the reg key.

Take a look Here to see the sort of library calls a screen saver makes to deal with the timer issue.
