    Hi~~All,
I'm running current version of TB. Though, I've selected fonts, colors, etc. in options, composition window, send options, TB will not keep them.
Each email I send, I must make selections again under format , font ,color..
Is there some setting I'm unaware of to make these preferences?
    Thanks for suggestions.

I have, never, had the problem you describe, unless I was replying to someone, or forwarding a message, and adding a comment.
I am, primarily, a Seamonkey user, but I will take a look at my Thunderbird, to see if the new version is up to no good.

I checked, and *I saw that although I had been using Lucida Sans Typewriter, when I selected Compose, I got Century Gothic. So, I checked my settings in Tools|Options|Display had Lucida, but Composition had Century. I changed the settings in Composition to Lucida, and the change held. You will make only temporary changes if done in the toolbar. As I said, I use TB very little, so I do not know when those changes occurred, but something did happen.

    TB and fonts

    `I found the trick...
It's in options-display-advanced. uncheck under fonts control the box " allow other fonts in use "...
That's kept my fonts, colors of choice....It will display ALL emails in those selected fonts, but I don't mind that...

    Lonestar1:

    1. Set your default font and color for Composition here:
    Options>Composition>HTML.
    2. Set your primary default font for Display here:
    Options>Display>Formatting>Fonts>Default Font
    3. Set more detailed default fonts for Display here:
    Options>Display>Formatting>Advanced
If your Composition and Display fonts are different, your message will be composed as selected under Composition but you will see it displayed as selected under Display. To compose and display in the same font, specify it at 1, 2 and 3 (as Serif).

"Allow messages to use other fonts" is another Display option. Checking it will display each message using the font(s) as and where chosen by the sender during composition. Unchecking it will display each message in your chosen display options. People generally check this option to see messages as they were created and sent.
