Today, after updating Thunderbird to Version 11.0 I could no longer send an email. But I discovered that if I clicked on Send Later and then clicked Send Unsent emails they would go as usual.

I tried disabling several Add-Ons but that must not be the issue. I've tried the Mozilla forums but no one else seems to be having this issue.

Does anyone here any ideas as to what could be the problem?

I know that last week I found hundreds of postings on some board ? that there were email issues and later found out that it was a Yahoo and AT&T problem. Since this came up right after the upgrade I'm wondering if there is some change I need to make.

    Thanks.

Don't use TB, but other e-mail programs have options to send immediatly or send later. Usually in Tools/options. Have you checked there?

I updated the day that it came out, and nothing changed in behavior. My ISP is Cox.
As for the settings, I do not see anything about sending, other than the format (HTML or plain text) or "ask me what to do ".

I may have solved the problem.

I updated my XP PC to Version 11 and sending worked just fine. So I determined that it had to be an Add-On. I was able to open Thunderbird in Safe Mode and the Send option works just fine.

Now I will have to go through each Add-On to try and determine which is the culprit.

Thanks for much for the responses. Appreciate it.

I have: 1.Compact Header. 2.Extra Folder Columns.3.Profile Switcher. 4. Test Pilot for Thunderbird. Very few, as you can see.

That's one of my problems. :) I have too many.

Everything is working fine now. Didn't even have to add them one by one. When I restarted TB it worked fine.

    Thanks.

Now, I am confused. If I read the thread correctly, there was a problem with Send mail, immediately after the update. But, now, after restarting it is, no longer, there.
Typically, I do not update any program, and, then use it. I update programs, and, then shut down the computer. That's why I want to control the updates.

    To be more clear!

There was a problem after I updated Firefox to Version 11.

After trying several things and rebooting my PC, I started Firefox with my Add-Ons disabled. (Safemode)

The problem was no longer an issue. So I restarted Firefox AGAIN and for some reason I do NOT understand I could once again click on the SEND icon and the email was sent.

Does this now make any sense to you?

Lots of things don't make sense to me at times. I never cease to amaze myself sometimes.
    Glad you got it working.

    Original
    .
    Clarification:
I concur with Mr.Bill, regardless of the program you are talking about. There are mysteries.
