When attaching a pdf file to send through Thunderbird (2.0.0.19) the client server (Microsoft Exchange Server 2007) responds, "#544 5.6.0 STOREDRV.deliver; corrupt message content" labeling the attachment undesirable and Not Deliverable. Viewing the page source, the "cntent-type: application/pdf;" changes to "content-type; application/applefile" making the attached pdf file undesirable and undeliverable. The suggested fix is to remove/delete the "mimetypes.rdf" file in the users Thunderbird profile directory, (username.####). This solution only temporarily fixed the problem.

I am not a programmer to understand Mozilla's "bug" reports or even search for such problem. Has anyone experienced the above problem? If so, what was your solution?

    Thanks,
    Suzette

I'm not so certain this is a Thunderbird problem. AFAIK, the mimeTypes.rdf dictates to TB what to DO with downloaded files and received email attachments. In other words, what program should be used to open or execute the received attachment or embedded file.

Try setting your TB preference to always send attachments inline:
Go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Config Editor > paste this in the location bar: .inline_attachments > double click to set to "true ". If already set to "true" then try setting to "false" and see if the problem persists.

Also, apparently there are roll up patches for Exchange that contain fixes for encoding.
