Hello all, "Never Forget" (9-11) :( I always use to hope that there would be a way to use Netscapes e-mail program as a stand-alone mail program. Well I guess what I'm asking is, 'Thunderbird' E-mail, netscapes e-mail program?
Also, what is the difference between Thunderbird and Firefox E-mail? I'm going to continue IE but I've been using Thunderbird as my default E-mail and I love it..Thank you for any info,,

I'm sure Ramona will be along soon, but I'll chime in before you get the "real" answer from her.

Firefox is a standalone browser. It uses the same rendering engine (gecko) as Netscape but whereas Netscape is a suite of applications, Firefox is a browser alone. Thunderbird is a standalone email client. Both of these programs are open source and almost ready to go gold (finished products). Netscape is a "branded, finished" product containing elements not found in the other two programs (i.e. AOL's instant messenger to name one).

If you were to look at Mozilla's suite you would notice a much greater similarity with Netscape since both are suites rather than standalone programs.

    Hi Paul,

Thunderbird and Netscape are based on Mozilla code, they are basically the same. The difference being the inclusion of AOL webmail in Netscape, and the ability to access it from within the Mail component of Netscape.

As James has already answered, there is no Firefox email. Firefox and Thunderbird are both standalone applications.

    Paul,
one more bit: There is no such thing as Internet Explorer mail, but there is a direct link to Outlook Express, which is the mail equivalent.
Firefox used to have a good link (extention) to Thunderbird, but, for now the communications have been broken, but, it better happen.
