I'm still trying to help someone else and not doing too well. I didn't have this problem on my own PC but can't figure this one out.

I created a sub folder under my account named 'Junk ". NOT the Local Folder setting. At some point I figured out how, when I clicked on "JUNK" by an email it went right to the Junk folder and future like emails went directly to that folder.

Well, right now I am at another person's computer and have looked everywhere but can't find the right option to duplicate this scenario on theirs.

When I click on the JUNK button next to the email, it just stays in the Inbox until I manually move it.

What's the answer to this issue? It's making me nuts because I think I've tried everything.

    Thanks.

    Bill,

I've already tried that and it still doesn'twork on his mailbox as it does in mine.

I am still learning how to navigate TB myself and have NO business trying to help someone else. I'll just keep messing with it and perhaps at some point I'll hit on the right option and it will work. Still driving me nuts though.

Thanks for your time. I now have to post another question about his vs. mine.

    Pat,

Curious as to why you created a Junk folder, when one is already available in TB? Once you set the Junk Mail options, then the folder is available, but perhaps you weren't aware of this. Try this for your friend:

Use all the settings in Junk Mail, like this screen shot, and then you will have a Junk folder: Screen Shot

Settings in: Tools | Account Settings | Junk settings

I can't remember for sure but I thought I created a folder under my user name and email line. If it was already there that's fine because at the time I decided to switch to TB and FF I was totally overwhelmed with this new Vista system.

But back to my friends machine. He had NO junk folder under his mail box ID and none in the LOCAL folders. So last night I created a Junk sub folder and tried to get his to act the way mine does. I went over this morning and tried again. NO luck.

I never use the LOCAL folders and am still ticked that the unsent messages go there and not to one I create under my name.

So should he have already had a JUNK Folder? Should I re-install?

    Thanks.

Did you understand what Ramona said? You will not see a Junk folder until you set up the Junk settings for that account. In other words, look at your Tools|Mail Settings|account|Junk settings. You may have to close the program, and reopen it to see the change.
But no Junk settings, no Junk folder.

    Pat,

What Westside said... No reason to reinstall either, just set up the Junk filter. ;)

No, I guess I didn't understand. I will take a trip over to his house today and check it out. I looked at my settings and they were the same as Ramona's. I should have been looking at his. Duh!

Thanks to both of you for your patience.

    Well, it all works now.

First thing, I deleted the Junk folder I created and then did as Ramona explained and a miracle happened. <G>

If Westside hadn't explained it further I would still be messing with it.

I am just a little dense.

Thanks. And my friend thanks you. It's like the blind leading the blind and I should not be trying to help someone else when my stuff is pretty much a mess most of the time.

    Thanks again.
