Trying to export Eartlhink Total Access address book and messages to Thunderbird. Have created CSV files and the address book will import in a fashion. When trying to import the CSV messages there is no import provision. Thunderbird only wants to import from Outlook Express, etc. Tried going from Total Access to Outlook Express then to Thunderbird but still unable to import anything. Any suggestions ...?

Are you saying that you try to import your Total Access into Outlook Express, and it does not work, or that it works into OE, but not from them onto Thunderbird?
I think that you will have to contact Earthlink. I know that you can change the default mail, but I have no idea about what happens to mail already downloaded.
Have you tried to change the default mail client to OE, or whatever? You can always change it back.

Thanks Westside for your response. First there doesn't seem to be any way one can transfer messages from Earthlink Total Access to Thunderbird or Outlook Express. Seems they don't want anyone to stop using TA ... no one should ever load it in the first place, all anyone needs to use Earthlink is the dial-up access. Anyway, after creating CSV files from TA address book and messages, there is no provision to receive them into OE or T. I got the address book to import but they have no provision to accept CSV files for messages ... doesn't make sense as when you load T it automaticallt asks if you want to import. Of course they are talking about Eudora, OE, Outlook, etc. I have come to the conclusion the only way to transfer TA messaages is to send them individually or as a forward to your email address and go from there. That is tedious. Again, I think I have convinced this person not to ever load TA ... I'll never tackle this job for a friend again ...! Thanks again.

If you exported an address book file in the .cvs format, and saved it on the hard drive, you should be able to import it regardless of the place of origin. However, there is no guarantee that the contents are not corrupted.
As for the mail, I would never deal with Earthlink, if they want to hang on everything. The name Total Access is a big joke!
