So, finally I jumped on TB 3 bandwagon and...I'm disappointed.
Actually, I tried it before, but I had a problem with connecting to Gmail, so I went back to TB2.
    Today, I totally uninstalled TB2 and I installed TB3.
However, while in TB2 message body was loading instantly, in TB3 it takes 1-2 sec.
I found some posts on Google about very same problem, but no solution.
I'm curious, if you guys are experiencing same issue....

Hi Broni, I'm using Thunderbird 3.0.1 and the first opening after startng comp takes 15-20 secs. If I close and reopen TB it only takes 1-2 secs. Other than that it works fine. Neil.

I'm not talking about TB initial opening time.
    I don't care about it.
When I click on a message in my inbox, it takes 1-2 secends to display the body of a message in lower pane.
    TB2 displayed the message immediately.

Interesting...I just installed TB3 over the top and the issue seems to be solved.
Strange thing is, this time, it asked me to restart computer, while it didn't with my original installation.

I am using both 2.o.x and 3.0.1, installed in different locations, and used with different profiles. Hands down, 3.0.1 is funky, at best. Most noticeable is the slowness in moving messages, or deleting them. It is no improvement, for me, but no big deal. A 2.0.24 nightly is my default! And, I will not change it, till they discontinue support of 2.0.x (even if only nightly), or fix 3.0.1.

I had couple more issues, some graphics under "Options" were not displayed correctly, until I noticed I was using some incompatible skin.
I changed it to default skin and everything went back to normal.
