    Thunderbird 1.05 has been released at http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/

    The release notes for Thunderbird 1.05 are available at:
    http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/releases/1.0.5-release-notes.html

    The release notes state that:

    "Thunderbird 1.0.5 is a security and stability update that is part of our ongoing program to provide a safe Internet experience for our customers. We recommend that all users upgrade to this latest version.

    Important Note

    To avoid crashes or other problems, do not install a new version using the installer into the same folder as an older zipped installation.

    Here's what's new in Thunderbird 1.0.5:

    * Several security fixes (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/known-vulnerabilities.html#Thunderbird)
    * Stability improvements "

    It is best to use the Add or Remove Programs control panel applet to uninstall the old version of Thunderbird before installing a new version.

    In my extensive 5 minutes of use of Thunderbird 1.05, I have experienced no problems!
