    Hi all,
I am currently using Mozilla 1.2.1 on my computer. I would love to use 1.4.1 or above but I have a browsing issue that is annoying with those versions which prevents me from using it.

When I use Mozilla 1.3.1, all the way up to 1.6, I have a problem with threads that are multiple pages long. For an example of what I'm talking about, please use this site as a guide http://www.sharkyforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=226183
When I go to the bottom of the first page, and click on the link to go on next page, or the little number 2, it will go to the next page fine. BUT if I click back on my browser, or click on the link that says previous page or page one at the bottom of page two, it will go back to page one, and be at the top of the page, then jump down to the bottom of page one.
Normally when I use IE or Mozilla 1.2.1 and earlier, I will be at the top of page two and can click back, the page 1 link, or previous page link, and it will instantly be at the BOTTOM of page 1 as it should be. So in Mozilla 1.3 and above (even in phoenix (firefox) I still have this problem.) when I am on the second page in a thread, and I hit back, page 1 link, or prevous page, the browser will be at the top of page 1 for a few seconds, then jump to the end of page one. Normally when I hit back, page one, or previous page links it just appears at the bottom of page 1 instantly. Does anyone get what I'm talking about, or hav ehad the same problem. Someone please help, thanks.

    Kevin

Not real sure what is going on.....but I think it is doing what it is supposed to do.....

    Just a thought.....

Back and Forward buttons will take you to the page "at the location" you were in when you left it "....(try it)

Selecting [1] or [2] etc take you to the "site" default page location....
Check the link properties for the available [1] or [2] - that is where the link will take you....

Does that make any sense ?

Ok, if I i scroll all the way down to the bottom of the first page of a thread. then click on next page link, that part works fine. It brings me to the top of page 2. But when I click back, or click on the link that says previous page, or page 1, it takes me to the top of page one (this was not the position I was at on the previous page) then jumps down to the bottom of the 1st page (which is where I was when I moved on to page two). Does this help clarify? It doesn't matter if I use the forward and backward buttons or the links to go to next and previous links, the problem still remains..(on mozilla 1.3 and later and phoenix and firefox the same thing).
    Thanks for any help.

    Kevin,

    Win98Se AMD1.2/512 mem - moz 1.6 - Modern Theme

I can not replicate your situation-
Going to the page you mentioned, everything seems pretty much the way I said above.

If I click the the "back" butoon at the top of the screen - it takes me to the bottom of page one - that is where I was before...
If I click the [1] it takes me to that address shown in "link properties "

I do not see any "previous page " or "page 1" link- maybe I missed it.

I will keep trying to replicate the problem and let you know if I come up with anything.

    regards:
