I've read somewhat mixed reviews on this one.
    Anyone have something definitive?
And where's the best place (online) to purchase?

    For reviews try Storage Review

If we knew which country you were in then we would be in a position to advise on supply sources.

Pete, I'm in Calif, though I used to be a distant neighbor of yours when I lived in London. Simply loved it there.
How do I edit my online profile?
    I couldn't see how to.

Oddly they did not have a review of the RE2 750. Go figure!

I guess they don't/can't review every drive produced.
Cliock on User CP > Edit Profile.

If you don't mind a slightly smaller drive, this one would undoubtedly be faster.

The best price I found for it was $97 at buy.com. I've done a bunch of reading on it and even had it in my cart 3 times over the last month (before deciding that I didn't really need a new HDD). The drive seems to be the fastest 7200rpm HDD around and even bests 10krpm drives in many tests.

The reason for its speed is that it only has two 320GB platters in it.

Have you ever bought from Buy.com?
I'll look them up, but know nothing about them.
Now a days there are so many internet shops w/ great prices that never deliver, and at $97 they are way under market, which raises my suspicions.

    Ooops!
    Take a look here - http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Buy

    Buy.com has terrible ratings.
