On some emails I reply to or forward doesn't insert these things.
I hate these little boogers. I know how to remove them from email, but is there anything I can do not to send them? I'm talking about these: >>>>>>'s

Molehill--You should be able to stop sending them (carets) by clicking OE Tools|Options|Send tab|Mail sending format|Plain Text Settings and uncheck the box "Indent the original text with ".
Tell us how you get rid of them in the messages you receive!

How I remove Them From Mail I Receive

Thanks Jim, here is what I do:
I get a lot of forwarded email. I found out how to remove these things: >>>>>

    I hate them.

    Sample email:

Subject: Amy sent this - They are words to live by
    > Around the corner I have a friend,
    > In this great city that has no end,
    > Yet the days go by, and the weeks rush on,
    > And before I know it a year has gone.
    > I never see my old friends face,
    > For life is a swift and terrible race,
    > He knows I like him just as well,
    > As in the days when I rang his bell,
    > And he rang mine, but we were younger then,
    > And now we are busy & tired men.
    > Tired of playing a foolish game,
    > Tired of trying to make a name.
    > Tomorrow; I say, I will call on Jim
    > Just to show I am thinking of him.
    > But tomorrow comes and tomorrow goes,
    > And distance between us grows and grows.
    > Just around the corner! - yet miles away,
    > Here's a telegram sir,  Jim died today.
    >

    2. Go to Word  Pad or a Blank page and paste the message.
    3. Click on EDIT
    4. Select "Find And Replace "
    5. By FIND, Type >
    6. By REPLACE, select "Nothing "
    7. Click on "REPLACE ALL "
    8. COPY ( CTRL + A)
    8A  Then CTRL + C to copy
    9. Go to New Message (Write Page)
    10.  In Message area,  Paste (CTRL + V)

    And it looks like this:

And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Around the corner, a vanished friend.
Remember to always say what you mean.
If you love someone - tell them.
Don't be afraid to express yourself.
Reach out and tell someone what they mean to you,
because when you decide that it is the right time,
    it might be too late.
Seize the day. Never have regrets. Most
importantly stay close to your friends & family,
for they have helped make you the person you are today.

You also might consider sending that 'fix' to everyone on your mailing list. A lot of people don't realize that it's set as a default. I told my list and they thanked me for telling them about it.

    :)
