Hello, can someone tell me why I can't use the Related button in my browser? I have Win98se & I'm running IE 5.5sp2.
I tried to repair IE & I d/L it again over itself., did not help. I wonder if my Norton Internet Security 2002 has something to do with it?
    I have Cable Internet.
    Thank You,,Paul

Steve, it goes in & out but doesn't open the window on the side. It even shows the color when I click it in.
    Thanks,Paul

The "Related" feature relies on Alexa plug-in which Ad-aware lists as spyware. If you're allowing Ad-aware to remove the Alexa plug-in, this would explain your problem.

brett--Looking forward to hearing from PAULDEP whether your suggestion solves the problem. I was going to suggest it, but in my experience, once AdAware deletes Alexa the "Related Sites" option is no longer available in IE's Toolbar Tools. And PAULDEP has named the problem Related, not Related Sites.
If PAULDEP still has the problem maybe he will tell us the location of this Related "button ".

Sorry, Related button is in the Toolbar of IE. I'm not using Adware but NIS!

After all these years, I had never heard of the Related button till this post. Then I looked at View->Toolbars->Custom. Can't say that I'll use it, but at least I learned something new today.

I'm not too convinced that this is actually the cause of the problem - but it's all I could think of

Hi Steve,,yes I love that "Related" button, thats how I found this Forum long ago. Its GREAT!!!! So many sites found by me & my good ole' Related Button ;) Matter of fact it was Netscape who had it first & I was happy to see that IE implemented it versions ago!! This is blowing my mind!

Did the problems with the "Relate" button only occur after you installed NIS? If not, then NIS is unlikely to be the cause of the problem. But try diabling the PF and see what happens.

You could download and run Ad-Aware. This will enable you to remove (completely) the Alexa components. Running the IE Repair Tool will reinstall the components which might just fix the problem.

Failing that, all I can suggest is that you try an upgrade to IE 6 and see whether that resolves it.
