Ok, I about to go bannanas because of Google.
Google says they are the best, but at what ?

I type in my search words and get 1,480 hits "as they call them)

Not one of them I believe has my words In it.

Google takes my input, explodes it into as many combinations
of letters ans words as possible and does a search on each of those.

Ok, How can we input our string of words and have Google
do a search on what we type in only - period ?

Example: There is a song entitled "Will you be here when John comes ".

We want results on that string of words only - not the hundreds of
"hits" for the letter w - then the letter o - and then Jonn, and then John Comes etc etc.

Your advice will help quite a bit. Maybe it is because we don't know how to search the internet yet ! But hey, I don't want to "search" the internet.
That's what we want Google to do - but for what we type in !

    Google Search Tips

If you your search terms in quotations (as you have it) Google will treat the search term in the quotes as one bouillian string (bouilian logic) rather than a set of words.
You were on the right path.
    i.e. search a b c
    Google search a
then takes the looks for b in that list etc
    If search "a b c" looks only for the string a b c
You were 3/4 way there aleady

    Google Search Tips

Isn't it "Google Maze" rather than "Google Maize "
Google will correct some spelling errors.
The search engines are just a start.
Generally you use a search engine as a starting point and then hunt around the first number of sites
Look for links they have found to refer to - they may of done your job for you
The number of hits are overwhelming in number i do agree
    Two tips

    1) to search for a particular phrase put the search in quotations. Google will treat the string as one search term - bouillian logic

    for example

    search Elvis Presley:

    http://www.google.ca/search?q=elvis...&rls=com.google:en-US:official&client=firefox

    hit 3.25 million

    search "elvis presley "

    http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&c...l&hs=foI&q="elvis+presley+"&btnG=Search&meta=

    hits 2 million

you can also change the order of your search terms

    for example search presley elvis

    3 million hits

most people never get past the first page of results
    do not feel too overwhelmed

This is the most difficult spelling error as Maize is a word (technical name for sweet corn), so google doesn't see it as a misspelling.
