    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

Not leaving anything to chance - do you have a finger reader and is it plugged in?

Who is the maker of the reader? Do thy make drives for Win7?

    The fingerprint is not detected

I have a problem with the fingerprint reader on my laptop.
I apologize for my poor English.
Hardware - HP Pavilion dv9000 with Authen Tec fingerprint reader AES2501A.
Double boot system, Vista and Windows 7, (both 32 bit).
    With Vista everything is OK.
With Windows 7 the problem starts after downloading and installing a Microsoft automatic update for Authen Tec.
    Authentec driver is V. 8.5.0.251 2009-07-02
    DigitalPersona Personal is V. 4.11.3826
After that, Digital Persona software, when I try to enrol my fingerprint displays the message "The fingerprint is not connected. Connect the readerâ€.
In fact this is not an important issue. We worked without this kind of devices for decades. It’s just a question of learning...how it works.
Although Windows 7 is a nice OS it has a poor support for drives and etc.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards
    Cabedelo
