I just downloaded a file and received the following message:
Properties for this program cannot be verified.
How do I find the Apps file folder since the installation of Windows 98 came pre-installed on my computer, so I can verify the file and extract the program?
    Thanks
    Glen108

What exactly did you download and do you still have a link to it?

If you downloaded Windows XP then it will be a pirated copy which we can not help you with.

I downloaded Windows XP from ZDNET website. I have no idea if it was pirated or not.
I thought ZDNET was a very reliable website for receiving all sorts of information and downloads.
    Thanks for your help.

I doubt if you have actually managed to get the Windows XP OS as this site looks to be operating within the law. What is the name and size of the file you dowloaded?

You mentioned boot discs, is that what you downloaded maybe, a windows XP boot disc? If that is the case I can assure you you have not got the full OS. If you want the full windows XP OS you will have to buy it or it will not be legal.

OK, so apparently Glen downloaded Windows XP boot disk.

My question is why? If you don't have Windows XP, there's nothing you can do with it!

Well, I guess Glen thought he was getting a free legitimate copy of Windows XP.

So, Glen, if you want a new copy of Windows XP you will have to buy one, that is the only way that you will get a legitimate copy of the OS. If you see the complete OS available to download for free it will be a pirated copy and to make it work on your PC you will have to buy a licence in order to get a valid legitimate Product Key.
