How do you fix this in XP? IN previous operating systems, you simply deleted it, restarted the PC, and re-installed it. However, XP wil not let you uninstall TCP/IP, which makes matters rather difficult. I have tried disbaling and re-enabling the connection, and also the "repair" option when right-clicking on the network connection, but none of it makes a difference. I know the probelm is with TCP, because I can ping the computer from another one on the network.

    Cheerz!

Might try removing and or disabling the eithernet card to see if you can delete tcp.

Or try creating a new connection.

Go to Start > Run and type:

    cmd

    At the command prompt, type:

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

(if C: is your system drive).

This will repair TCP/IP and reset all parameters to default. The changes made will be recorded in the resetlog.txt file.

If you suspect registry corruption of the Winsock2 settings, this will reset those settings:

    Reboot.
