I have used the TClockEx program written by Dale Nurden for years. Recently I had to buy a new computer using Vista.

In trying to load TClockEx under Vista I get the error message: "TClockEx could not load in the allocated time." I googled for and answer to what this meant and how to fix it and I found an article discussing the program and suggesting for more help to "check out InfiniSource's TechFile." To my surprise I find out that InfiniSource is YOU ! But could not find a "tech file" on the web page.

So, I do hope you can help me with this problem.

Thanks for the link, but I couldn't see anything on that page other than the reference to the fact that there was such a program called TClockEx.

Will you explain to me what "could not load in the allocated time" means and is there a way to "fix" this?

I did read somewhere that this program could run on Vista.

    Thanks

If I could I would :) I am guessing that there is an installation 'time scale' built into the programming of the applet.

I'm not familiar with Vista - running XP on both computers, but I wonder if you need to log on with the core administrative rights to install as I believe the standard administrator account has less privileges.

Try rt-clk on install file and choose to run as administrator. After installing rt-clk exe file and choose properties, then compatability tab then choose to run in win98/me mode.

Might even try running install file in compatability mode if the above doesn't work.

    Thanks both Sparrow and Broni,

Did try running TClock as administrator and in compatibility mode and it still does not work. Last solution could be something Vista has called Compatibility Assistant and you need a tech to do it for you. So I will collect all my difficult programs and give them a call.

There are a lot of free choices that run on Vista so if I give up on TClock will look into those instead of buying the Atomic Clock.

    Thanks again
