Why does Thunderbird keep asking me for my password despite the fact that I've put it in dozens of times?

Thanks for the quick reply. It forgets the password, and prompts me everytime I send an e-mail. BTW, I'm using ver. 3.1.2.

I hate 3.1.2, and its 3.x predecessors. As for passwords, I see a very funky password manager, which does not show the passwords, when unhidden, unless I place my cursor on the far left. I have had as many a three different instances of the same mail account, and same password. If the password is present, and it asks me, I delete the existing password, but it does not matter. And, some accounts do not save the password, like a couple of IMAP accounts. But everything is cool in 2.0.0.25, though.

I have both 2.0.0.25 and 3.1.2. I have run into problems with 2.0.0.25, but 3.1.2, is, regularly giving problems. Among the, I am told that "this folder is being processed..." every time I open the darned thing. Which folder it is up to me to figure out. It times out my main server, regularly. In theory, I should not be able to use any of the five accounts on that server, but this is not the case. It, regularly, forgets the password on my aol.com IMAP accounts, and, at times my Yahoo account. And, more.
And, 2.0.0.25 is free of errors. 3.1.2 stinks.
