Taskbar Freezing

    My taskbar occasionally freezes (so that I cannot click on windows or anything in it including the Start menu or Quicklaunch icons). Maybe 15-30 seconds later it comes back and if I had clicked on one of the windows it would pop up. Does anyone know how to fix this 'lag' or 'freeze'?

    The usual cause of this is a very busy PC that has to finish some priority operations first. So I guess the key is to figure out what has the machine so busy at times.

    How much memory do you have installed? XP is a memory hog.
