Task Bar Disappears Windows 7

I tried a search here on this problem and did not get any hits. I did a google search and found it is a problem for some users.

My taskbar started disappearing today without any warning or changes to my HP Desktop p6510y. The only way I can get it back it to restart the computer.

When I restart the computer it loads and appears to be OK and then I will look up and it is gone again. On the Taskbar properties menu the only items checked are "lock the taskbar" and "use aero peek ".

I restarted the computer one time and the task bar appeared so I went through a "proposed solution" from the google search anyway: Restart, bring up task mgr, click file menu, select "new tasks ", type in "explorer.exe" click OK. Did all that and the task bar was still there but shortly thereafter it disappeared again.

When it goes and I right click on the area where it usually resides, I get the same menu I get from the desktop.
